A thought is all it takes
A few months ago in early 2022, I was talking to a friend on phone.
This was a childhood friend who is now an MBBS doctor and works in hospitals. I was telling her about my online work of Natural Healthcare at Swaadhin Wellness, & how it enabled me to serve people, without much stress. I was convinced about calm state of mind, which seemed to create an environment suitable for healing.
My friend then told me her story, of living life, as a doctor. What she said about her work blew my mind away.....
She told me that being a doctor, she is required to be on high alert mode, always. She gets called for emergency cases sometimes, and has to leave everything as-is and run immediately to the hospital. Being aware that a delay could cause issues for patient, she cannot take any chances. She is required to remain ready to leave the house & kids in any condition, anytime; that being an essential part of her responsibility. She also mentioned how her life remains full of anxiety & stress, many-a-times, to serve her duty, well.
Listening about her life, I realized that there is more to being a practitioner & something was missing in executing my role. I had started Swaadhin Org to help people in mental/emotional & physical ailments and restore wellbeing, thoughtfully. This seemed most needed for patients combating with stress & falling sick. However, I had missed the other extreme end - a situation when patient is battling against acute disease symptoms and stress needs to be taken, by practitioners & care-givers, to provide much-needed support.
I realized, how challenging this job, could be, in an emergency situation. My role needs to cover an additional dimension, and more readiness for same. Soldiers, get trained, everyday, for war, which may never happen in their lifetime. Such preparation for executing duty in a demanding situation needs to be done now and regularly so.
These thoughts brought in a new surge of energy within me, it was a calling! A calling, to be more dutiful.....
I had heard about a few cases which happened early morning , before sunrise and patient suffered due to non-availability of medical help. Swaadhin Wellness phone was also switched-off during night and turned on next morning around 9 a.m. What if a patient needs to call earlier?, this requires consideration, I thought.
Clinic availability for urgent calls was changed and the phone was switched-on earlier as best possible, for next few days. Then onwards, work mobile was set to turn-on automatically, around dawn, so anyone in-need could reach out. It has been around 5-6 months and this practice is ongoing at Swaadhin Wellness, ever-since.
An idea can turn into a learning and change perception, thus enabling one to relate & act differently. Thoughts are powerful, and very useful to improve oneself, progressing, one-step at a time.
Have you experienced something, similar, in your life?
